 Excerpt
“I’m so sorry for your loss.”
I plastered a smile on my face and shook the hand of the person in front of me. “Thank you.” She let go of my hand and scurried off to a group nearby. I had no idea who she was or how she knew my father. I didn’t care. I was just grateful she didn’t go on and on about what a great man my father was. I hated pretending he was a great man and a great He played the part perfectly - the widower raising a daughter all on his own and building a successful business.
I glanced over at my father lying in the casket trying to feel something - some sort of shred of sadness, but I couldn’t. It bothered me that I didn’t mourn his loss at all. Maybe I was really his daughter, turning into a cold-hearted human being just like him. Hell, he’d probably be proud. I found myself fighting back a giggle at the thought and felt a hand at the small of my back. I turned around to find Patrick standing behind me.
“Are you okay, Julia?” He leaned in, his eyebrows furrowed. I clenched my hands in frustration at my sides and took a deep breath. “I’m fine and I wish you would leave me alone,” I whispered.
“You need me right now,” he said firmly. I wasn’t sure who he thought he was trying to convince. If anything, I needed to be as far away from him as I could get. That was the whole reason I left Chicago in the first place. I was about to argue with him when some of my father’s clients came up to us. I narrowed my eyes at Patrick as if to tell him this conversation wasn’t finished. I almost threw up with the way he schmoozed the gentleman. My father had groomed him well to be his successor.
“He’s like a mini version of your father,” my best friend Sophia muttered. “I know.” I shuddered. “To think I almost married him.”
“Yeah, you dodged a bullet there.”
We watched him shake hands and talk to the group of men as if they were at a country club and not standing over the casket of a dead man.
“So, have you heard from Aiden?” She asked, putting her arm through mine as we walked to the ladies room. I was tired from standing in one spot most of the evening and it felt good to stretch my legs. “Why would I?” I swallowed back the tears that threatened to flow.
“It’s not like he had my number or anything. I left before he even had a chance to ask.” Sophia nodded and tucked a lock of blonde hair behind her ear. “There are ways for him to find you if he really wanted to.” She put an arm around my waist and hugged me close.
She was right but I didn’t want to think about it. I knew we were keeping it casual but he said he loved me. If he loved me, why did he let it end this way?

excerpt
Unedited and subject to change
July 2013 Carrie There are those defining moments in life when your world as you have known it is ripped away from you. You have to decide if you are going to lie down and let it crush you or are you going to get up, strap on your big girl panties, and make a new life. I chose the latter. When my world and future were ripped away from me I chose to redefine myself and become an independent woman. I have been dependent on people my entire life and it has gotten me nothing, but heartache and pain. Time for a change. I could not believe that I was preparing to marry the man I have loved since I was sixteen years old. Standing in front of the mirror, I felt like a cake topper in my mother’s choice of dress. It was not me at all. You could barely see me or my figure amongst the mounds of tulle in the skirt. The top is long sleeved with lace resting along the collar bone and the back dipping wide, stopping just below my shoulder blades. My exposed shoulder blades were the only skin you could find in this dress. I wanted to take it off as soon as I put it on, but, for my mother’s sake, I came out to show the group. I don’t know why I bothered. There was not a dress in the universe that would make us both happy. This could be why my wedding dress was one of the last things I needed to pick for the wedding. If I was being honest, it was one of the only things I really got to pick. My mother was trying to hijack that too. When she heard that Toby and I had gotten engaged, she immediately got on the phone with Lois, Toby’s mom. Together the two of them have been planning their dream wedding for us. They came together to pick the location of the wedding, reception and over the top hotel ballroom. The colors, robin’s egg blue with ivory accents with ivory roses all around, are boring. I let them plan it all because they were paying and I didn’t care enough to fight. I just wanted to be married to Toby. He is my heart. We have been together since we were sixteen. Nobody knew me better than him. He is my constant and my strength and I couldn’t wait to have that in my life forever. That’s I all I care about. They can have the rest, except for the dress. I want to pick a dress that makes me feel beautiful and confidant, not like a cake topper. “Oh, you look like a bride!” Mother coos as Lois nods her agreement. Rolling my eyes, I decide I have to take a stand or I will be stuck in this monstrosity of a wedding dress for my wedding. “I hate this and I’m not going to wear it. I am going to go back in there, resist the urge to burn this dress, and come out in something I love. This is my day. I appreciate everything you two have done for me, but I need to pick this dress myself.” Gathering the mass of tulle I stormed off into the dressing room. The consultant followed me in. “From now on we are just focusing on my picks. Let’s start with that one please,” I said as I pointed to the dress that caught my eye as soon as I walked in. Sliding the dress over my head, she zipped it up and I turned to face the mirror. Goose bumps pricked my arms and my breath caught. This is the dress that I would marry Toby in. The dress was everything I never knew I wanted. It just felt right. The bodice was covered in intricate flower patterned lace with pearl straps. The skirt was light ivory tulle with a shear organza overlay. The same lace from the bodice adorned the bottom of the skirt. The piece that made it perfect was the silver belt that was intricately detailed like the lace and had pearl accents throughout. I had considered taking it off and having them ring it up. I really didn’t want the mothers to ruin this for me. There is no way that would be acceptable to the mothers so I went out there to let them know that this was the one and I am not changing my mind. Stepping onto the podium, I look at myself in the big mirror. This was it and I just had to make them see it. I called the bridal consultant over and asked her if she could get me a veil to put on with the dress. I need all the help I can get to get us all on the same page. Turning towards the group I wait for them to shoot the dress down so I can defend it. My mother’s hand flies to her mouth her eyes sparkle with unshed tears. She looks over at my future mother in law and they both nod. “This is it. You look gorgeous.” My mother in law says. Yes, I have found the one. Turning back to the mirror I inspect myself in the mirror. I look like a bride. I am going to walk down the aisle and marry the man of my dreams in this dress. He is going to love it. My phone chirped from my purse that I had left with my mother. I ignored it. That wasn’t the time for texts. It was time for my celebration. The phone chirped three more times consecutively so I decide that whoever it is must think that whatever they have to say is important. Stepping off the pedestal, I dig my phone from purse and slide my finger across the screen to see who it is. There were four texts from Toby. Opening the first one, I gasped. It was a close up picture of a girl with her lips wrapped around a dick. At first, I was like what the fuck is this? Upon closer inspection I saw the black tribal tattoo down his side that I knew so well. I sat beside Toby when he got it last year. My hands begin to shake. I know I shouldn’t open the rest, but, I can’t seem to stop myself. The next one is a picture of Toby and a bleach blond kissing. Tears stream down my face as everyone watches me. I have not said a word so they don’t know that my heart is shattering. Opening the third, my eyes land on a picture that looks like it was taken by Toby. It shows the entire front of the same girl, fully naked and exposed, as she is riding him. My knees buckle as I look at it and my future is ripped away from me. I switch to the final text. Toby: Heard you were getting married. Wanted to show you who you were committing your life to. Throwing the phone as if the words had burned me, I sat there on the floor in a pile of tulle and organza crying over my shattered heart and demolished future. They say that timing is everything and the timing of the job offer to be a teacher at Loveland Elementary in Colorado couldn’t have been better if I had planned it. I have graduated from Iowa State with a teaching degree. Originally the plan was to try to get a position around Ames, get married, have the two point five kids, and live happily ever after with my high school sweetheart. It was the fairytale everyone talks about. That fairy tale has been crushed and it’s time to create a new story featuring me alone as the heroine. I had not applied to schools out of state and I was surprised when they had called me asking if I would be interested in starting in the upcoming school year. I guess my professor had a friend there and called them to recommend me after she had heard that I may need a new start. I could kiss her for this because that is exactly what I need. I accepted the position without any hesitation and began arranging my new life in Loveland, Colorado. Through the internet I found a girl who was looking for a roommate. She is a nurse at the cancer center there and seems really nice. My parents have helped me with starting money because they really want me to move away. They don’t like the way my tainted marriage plans and decimated future make them look to their friends. Apparently, I am now an embarrassment because Toby was sticking his dick in other women behind my back. My car is packed to the brim with all of my possessions. If it didn’t fit in the car, it was staying here. Can you think of a better way to force a new start? I can’t. I don’t have the room to bring my past with me so I have to go and start anew in a new place. Starting with new stuff. Waking up early, I slide into my Grad Am SE. I don’t bother to say goodbye to mother or the rest of the family. What’s the point? They want me gone so I’m gone. They are not getting any teary, heartfelt goodbyes. They would just be a lie anyway. Backing from the driveway, I start the long drive to Colorado; to my new life.   Cory square

Jackson Steele and Sylvia Brooks are back in the powerful finale of a provocative, sizzling-hot new erotic trilogy set in the world of J. Kenner’s beloved Stark novels: Release Me, Claim Me, and Complete Me.
He’s the only man I’ve ever loved, and the one man I can’t bear to lose.

My name is Marcus Hunter. I own Hunter Investments, a billion dollar hedge fund.

I admit it, I’m a total womanizer.  A player, a serial-seducer, call me what you like.

I enjoy a variety of women and I don’t do love.

I work hard, and I play even harder.

I rarely dip into the office pool.  That was until I became intrigued with Sophie Shawn. She is a high-flying money manager like myself and we’ve had to work closely together.

Sophie’s my equal, she’s smart, sharp-witted and of course she has to be sexy-as-hell.

The way she shakes her little ass in her tight, short skirts has me wanting to bury myself deep inside her.

We’re enjoying a drink together after work.

She doesn’t know it yet, but I’m going to bed her tonight. I want to hear her beneath me begging for more. When I’m done with her she won’t be able to utter a single coherent word.

Little did I know, I was the one in for a surprise from Miss Sophie Shawn.

Chapter 1
Marcus
We’re sitting at the bar in the restaurant downstairs from the offices of Hunter Investments. Sophie and I have put in long hours this week and we need to unwind. I can think of the perfect way to unwind and she’s sitting right next to me looking oh-so-damn sexy. Her dress slits open in the front and I think I catch a glimpse of, what is that, a garter and stockings? I’m in trouble; she catches me looking.
“Like what you see, Marcus?” she says, as the words roll off those luscious red lips of hers.
“I do. I do indeed,” I say, as my eyes cast down to her breasts straining against the fabric of her low cut dress. She lets out a soft laugh as she takes a sip of her wine.
“Have dinner with me,” I tell her.
“Alright,” she accepts my invitation.
“What are you in the mood for?” I ask.
“You,” she replies, and I’m not sure I heard her right.
“Excuse me?” I ask.
“You heard me,” she says, staring at me seductively. Damn, I have to loosen my tie.
“Let’s eat first,” I say with a wicked smile.
“Suit yourself. You choose the place,” Sophie says.
“Let’s eat here,” I suggest.
“Sounds good,” she says, leaning into me as she slides off her bar stool and spreads her legs to make sure I can see up her skirt, as her silky dress pulls tightly across her breasts. Maybe we should skip dinner.
“Is it hot in here?” I tease, as we walk into the restaurant. We order right away, not wanting to waste a minute before I can rip the clothes off that tight little body of hers. “Your place or mine?” I ask, leaning back in my chair and crossing my legs while we wait for our dinner to arrive.
“Where do you live again? I know you’ve told me before but I can’t remember,” she says.
“Manhattan Beach, you’ll have to come over some time,” I answer.
“My place then, it’s closer,” she says sultrily, and adds a wink for good measure. She leans forward and lets her long, silky black hair drape sexily across her gorgeous face. Sophie shared her heritage with me one day a few months ago over lunch. Her Mom is Chinese and her Dad is Scottish. She has exotic Eurasian features; I’ve never been with a Eurasian girl, but I’ve heard great things about them. How am I going to manage walking out of here with a raging hard on? After we finish having dinner, I settle the bill. Sophie stands and we head down to the parking garage. I follow her home a short distance to her apartment. She lives alone in one of those high-rise luxury apartment buildings that are just a stone’s throw from our offices in Century City.
“You live so close to work, you could almost walk,” I say, once I park in front of her building and walk into her grand and spacious lobby.
“Yes, it’s so convenient. I don’t have much of a commute,” she says as we get on the elevator.
Once we close the door to her luxurious apartment and she puts her things down, she starts walking into her bedroom while she’s unbuttoning the front of her dress and sliding off its belt. My feet are rooted in place as she leaves me standing in the entryway of her lavishly decorated Century City apartment and I’m not sure what to make of this.
“Get in here,” she calls out to me from her bedroom. Just like that, no foreplay? Damn, she’s throwing me off my game big time; she almost makes me nervous. I walk slowly towards her room and she’s sprawled out sexily on her king size bed in the most alluring black lace lingerie. My heart stops. All she is wearing now is a black lace bra that she fills out nicely, then my eyes travel down to her shapely waistline where I see her black lace garter belt that looks amazing on her curves. Next, I see her black lace panties and sheer black stockings covering her lean legs, down to the tips of her toes. She’s posed like a pin-up, and she looks so sexy I immediately rise to the occasion.
“Strip,” she commands as she rolls over to turn on her iPod player. I do as I’m told; this girl is stealing all of my lines. Unbelievable. I strip down to my tight black briefs and climb on top of her, then my lips crash down onto those ruby red lips of hers that I can’t wait to have wrapped around me.

Author Bio:

My passions lie in reading and writing sexy contemporary romance novels.  I love writing in the genre I love to read. Personal experiences are often the inspiration for my sexy romances, so you will find a little bit of me in every story I pen. I will leave you to guess which parts are true and which parts are fiction!

Listening to my favorite music while writing inspires me to create my characters and makes their love stories come alive. I believe in writing about heroines who are strong, smart, sassy, sexy and have a sense of humor.

I cherish my family and am a hopeless romantic. I believe in finding your happily-ever-after and that each day is for living, loving and laughing.

XO,

Christine

Synopsis

Isabel Nichols’s life changed in more ways than one through the years. As a young child, she experienced a loss that devastated her. It wasn’t until she was an adult that the universe around her shattered. In a twenty-four-hour time frame, she lost what she’d thought was her world. What followed was a year of mourning, a year of grieving, a year of darkness. Now, there’s one man who can show her the light.

Dakota Jackson left his life behind on a whim, moving to a beach cottage away from the big city where he grew up. He sees through Izzie’s clouds as he gets to know her, with the drive to be everything that she’s ever needed. The only problem is, Dakota holds the key to a secret that could ruin both of their hopes and dreams.

This is about two souls that were meant to be together from the day they were born. Two people who have to figure out a way to look past the memories. It’s the now; it’s living your life as you’re meant to, loving the one your heart craves. It’s about letting go of the grieving, learning to be who you are, and accepting life for what it is.

“A.M. Willard has the combination to unlock your heart. This is a elegantly written book and an emotional journey that I highly recommend reading.” Author Addison Kline.

Excerpt

Dakota has positioned me over his leg as he moves us as one to the words. The gentle sway back and forth and steady dips have ignited my core. It’s not just the words being sung, it’s his touch, and the way he’s staring into my eyes. The song I’ve loved for years is becoming something that is my life. He’s the one who not only turns me on, but can turn me off in a split second. No one has ever been able to cause the surge of emotions within me like he has in this short time. The song ends just as he brings me up to his chest allowing out foreheads to touch. My heart is beating so hard against my chest that it feels like it’s going to jump out and into his. I know he hears the fast pace of my breathing, just as I can hear his.

Synopsis

If you could have the man of your dreams would you go after him?

That was the question Faith asked herself when a tall dark haired, sexy as sin vampire started coming to her in her dreams. Most would dismiss it as nothing more than that, just dreams; but not her. Faith was no ordinary young woman, she was a visionary.

She could see peoples' futures in her dreams and by touching them. When she started seeing the beautiful vampire as she slept, she knew she had to go after him. Discovering he lived in the same house as the sister she never knew she had, just made it easier.

For Adrian the sudden appearance of the stunningly beautiful but innocent Faith meant trouble for him. For two years he'd been living a lie, and keeping a secret about what he got up to each night. His family had no idea, and that was how it had to be until Faith’s arrival threatened it all.

With her sheer determination to prove that they were destined for one another, suddenly Adrian's life was thrown into chaos. For Faith who had 'seen' his future and knew his secrets it was simple, come clean and accept that he was hers.

Of course in her mind it was that simple, but not to Adrian. He still fought her at every turn, appearing to want her and then pushing her away again. Finally when things got too much, he ran, abandoning her and leaving her broken-hearted.

Then something happened, something that threatened their lives and had the potential to change everything. Was this going to be Faith’s chance for happily ever after or would everything be lost?

Would her visions become her nightmares, or was she finally going to get Adrian, who had literally been the man of her dreams?

For as long as I can remember, I've loved to write, poetry, short stories just about anything. My English teachers in school kept telling me I should write and it took me a lot of years to finally get around to it.

I spent too long worrying about failing as a writer before I realized that living with the regret of never trying was worse.

I live in a sleepy country town in Tasmania, Australia with my partner and our three children, who aren't so little anymore, plus a whole assortment of animals.

Natasha's Awakening is my first book but I have no intention of stopping now and will continue to live my dream of being a published author. I have just published Taming Eric which is his POV to Natasha's Awakening.

My interests are writing of course, reading, watching movies and hanging out at home with my family, our six cats and one dog.

Excerpt

He waved a hand in front of her face, but she didn’t blink. The lights are on, but no one’s home.

“Carly, my angel,” he whispered and cupped her cheek into his palm. He revealed in the silkiness and warmth of her skin. Still, she didn’t react. She was almost…a zombie.

His own body jerked in reaction to the fear she was emanating. She was clearly sleepwalking and in the throes of one hell of a nightmare, yet she didn’t cry out any longer. It was all now playing out inside her mind.

“Charlotte, see me,” he implored.

Her lips twitched at the mention of her real name.

“See me,” he repeated.

Suddenly, her body gave way and she collapsed. Catching her, he lifted her into his arms and carried her to the bed. As he laid her down, her breathing became ragged. He placed a hand over her heart as it raced, and passed healing calmness through his hand, feeling the energy pulsate against her skin. Beneath his hand, he would feel her heartbeat slow to a normal rhythm.

“Daniel?” Her voice was mere caress.

“I’m here, my angel. You’re having a nightmare. You’re frightened. It’s okay now, I’m here, and I will never leave you,” he promised.

“Everyone leaves, Daniel. You can’t understand, you can’t…” Her body started to tremble.

He climbed onto the bed and straddled her body. Leaning close to her face, he said, “Carly, let go of your fear. I can take it. Let go and see me,” he commanded.

Her breath came out in a whoosh, and a wall of fear and resistance hit him like a blow from above. It wasn’t exactly painful, more startling than anything else.

His vision flip-flopped, and he could see an image from inside her mind of two souls forever entwined as the result of one act. It made perfect sense. She was reliving the day their souls became one. The day of the fire.

He then saw black, suffocating water. She was reliving her own death, as well.

As the visions left him, he was consumed with the mishmash of fear, loneliness, and resistance within her.

He had to make her understand that it was over. “I will never leave you, Carly. That is my promise to you,” he insisted.

A flicker of life ignited in her eyes. Her hands came up to his face, and to Daniel’s surprise, tears bubbled from his own eyes. He was releasing the pain and fear he had absorbed from his beloved.

“I’m so sorry, Daniel, so sorry,” she murmured.

“There’s nothing to be sorry for, my love. It’s over. It’s time to move forward now.”

“You don’t understand what I am, Daniel.”

“I do understand, Carly. I am what you are. See me for what I am.”

In his mind, he could see the moving clockwork gears of her thoughts once again as she tried to process what he was telling her to be true.

“Just accept it, and let’s move forward.”

She drew his face to hers and her lips parted beneath his. Time blurred and he drank in the essence of his Carly. Her soft, barely covered curves molded themselves against his the hard planes of his body. Her hands were under his t-shirt, her fingers stroking him.

If he pressed on, he knew she wouldn’t refuse him. But in her vulnerable state, he wouldn’t let anything progress further that night. Carly needed time to process everything that happened. There was plenty of time to pursue a physical relationship. They weren’t going any where…he hoped.
