Release Blitz
Title: Something Worth Saving
Author: Mayra Statham
Cover Designer: Dark Water Covers
Release Date: September 14, 2017

They had it all. Or so they thought. A fairytale kind of romance that started with a girl and a boy falling head over heels in love. This isn’t that part of the story. This is what happens after the happily ever after. After careers blossom, babies, stretch marks, and carpools. Nadia is lost. As much as she loves her life, she hardly recognizes the reflection in the mirror. All she sees is his wife, their mom. Owen works hard. Somewhere between his career and life, working to provide everything possible for his girls, he lost track of what was important. After one too many broken promises, cold shoulders, and nonexistent attempts at trying to work on ‘them’, she is ready for her life to change. When she does, he wakes up and realizes his own mistakes. Do Owen and Nadia have something worth saving?

I’m surprised you noticed. Her voice chimed through his head again in a tone that made his stomach roll and his heart ache. It was her tone. God, that damn tone in her voice. Defeated. Was it because he’d had to cancel their date? He rolled onto his back and looked at the ceiling. The ceiling fan’s soft whirling too loud in his ears, making it impossible for him to shut his mind off, he turned again and faced the closet. Hanging there was his black suit. The one she liked him to wear. Her favorite, she'd told him once, grinning, slightly drunk and so fucking beautiful it almost hurt to look at her. The only pain greater would be not to look. His suit was freshly dry-cleaned. Hanging over it was a dark hunter-green dress. New from the look of the tags still hanging off it. Hunter green. His favorite color. She'd bought a new dress for their date. How long ago? He tried to think about her mentioning going shopping, but he couldn't remember. All he could seem to remember was her talking about gymnastics, ballet lessons, what crazy stunts Simone was up to, and PTA meetings. She used to share every bit of her day. When had she stopped sharing? Or had he stopped listening? I’m surprised you noticed. He turned again to look at her, watching her face twist slightly, a tear falling from the corner of her shut eyes, and his heart stopped. What could she be dreaming about to make her cry? Instinctively, he moved into her, pulling her body close to him, loving the way she felt next to him and how easily she molded into his body, wrapping her leg over his thigh. He breathed in the scent of her hair and tried to remember the last time he’d held her close. He closed his eyes in pain, not able to bring it up. I'm surprised you noticed. She wanted to take the girls to Santa Barbara, to a house that was a mess and needed work, over staying here. Instead of staying in their home?

RELEASE BLITZ - The Atonement of Lucas (The Ascent Series) by Kris Hack

Title: The Atonement of Lucas
Series: The Ascent Series
Author: Kris Hack
Genre: Adult, Paranormal Romance
Published: September 14, 2017
Page Count: 242 Pages
THE ONLY PERSON I’VE EVER LOVED was taken from me during the first reaping several months ago. I don’t know how, or why, but something changed inside me, turning me into something I never knew existed. Sasha came into my life and saved me, teaching me to use the powers I’d known so little about. But saving me wasn’t her end goal. She handed me over to the Fallen like I meant nothing to her, and now, revenge is all I see. Destroying those who screwed me fills my every thought but there’s one thing standing in my way. He came along and became the one Fallen I don’t think I can live without.

TROUBLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN HER NAME. When I found her planting a bomb on the compound, I threw her in a cell, leaving her the option to cooperate or starve. I should kill her and put an end to the suffering she’s determined to impose on all of us, but there’s just something about her that keeps holding me back. The friction between us is explosive. I can’t resist her when she gets that look in her eye, and she damn well knows it.

The Atonement of Lucas Excerpt © Kris Hack 2017

Leaning over the ledge, I see Amelia pop out of the water and I breathe a sigh of relief before jumping in after her. I come up out of the water right next to her and she startles, splashing me in the face—as if that would scare off an attacker.
We swim to where we can touch, and I turn to check on her. “Are you okay?”
She nods. “I lost my footing.”
Smiling, I pull a twig from her damp hair. “I see that.” I show her the stick and drop it in the water as she giggles. My body reacts to her laugh and before I know it, I’m putting my arm around her, pulling her close. I don’t know why I do it, but something about her soaking wet skin against mine makes me want to have more and more of her touching me.
Amelia sucks in a breath as her legs wrap around me. She stares deep into my eyes, biting her lip. Her half-lidded eyes are a sign she’s affected by the erection now hardening between us.
One of her hands is on my shoulder and the other is holding onto my bicep that’s flexing as I hold her to me. Her hand moves to my face and she brushes her thumb across my bottom lip, before pulling my head down and pressing her lips against mine.
The kiss is soft, tentative at first, until she realizes I’m not going to be the one to stop this. I walk us to the cliff overhang and press her against the natural stone wall. I release my grip on her, allowing my pelvis to hold her up.
I pull my lips from hers and suckle down her jawline and neck. Amelia lets out a breathy moan when I find a sweet spot near her collarbone. She moves one of her hands to my neck and arches her back, pushing her breasts up, while rubbing her center against the length of my cock. I’m completely hard now; there is no doubt she can feel it.
“Lucas.” She groans, and my name on her sexually charged tongue is almost my undoing.
I pull down the collar of her shirt, trailing kisses along the tops of her perky breasts. She pulls away and I look up to see what’s changed. Amelia’s holding her arms high above her head, smiling with sweet seduction. Tentatively, I place my hand under the hem of her shirt. Chloe always undressed herself, so this is the first time I’ve had to take a woman’s shirt off with only one hand.
Her shirt gets caught on her right side, as I lift it on the left. Dragging my hand across her belly, I lift the left side and the right falls a little. Her stomach quakes as my hand moves from side to side. I get my mouth involved, using it to hold the front of her shirt up high. It takes longer than if I had both hands, but Amelia is patient and each brush against her skin has her trembling.
Finally, the shirt is off and her breasts are on display for my perusal. She doesn’t wear a bra and I am so thankful for that. I throw her shirt on a nearby rock and look over every square inch of her beautiful body. My eyes make their way to hers, silently asking for permission to touch what I’ve uncovered, but she isn’t looking at me—not at my face anyway. Her eyes are currently glued on the white shirt plastered to my chest.

I love to read, write, and go camping, especially if it's near a beach somewhere. My furbabies and hubby love the water and so do I! We go camping whenever we can and have a blast cuddling by the fire, eating s’mores and listening to the waves crash against the shore.

Reading is a long-time passion of mine and I’ve always had trouble ending the books when I close them. Characters and scenarios would flow through my mind, further keeping me from much needed sleep. After a time, my own characters began running through my head, demanding to have their stories told.

I am the author of the Ascent series, my first published novel is The Ascension of Laney, a New Adult Paranormal Romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting characters, cool setting.
By Mark C on September 1, 2017
This cozy mystery-style story is populated with interesting characters in a very cool setting. Nice small town feel that makes Lake Superior almost another character in the story. The plotline was enjoyable and not overly complicated, and I really enjoyed the supernatural touch, particularly at the end. The flow is good and the author has a nice touch with knowing when to inject an unexpected twist. Strong showing for a first-time author. Between the characters in this town and the interesting "Past Imperfect" antique store setting, this is ripe for a series. And I hope the author maintains the slight supernatural element. That was quite an interesting byline without it dominating the story. Very well done.

Anne Willow has a small addiction to antiques. She loves getting lost in antique shops and learning the stories behind the treasures. The Past Imperfect series was born out of her story collection.

Anne has always loved the North Shore, especially Lake Superior near Grand Marais. She lives there with her husband and two children. When bringing the Past Imperfect series together, Anne couldn’t think of a better place to have Julia’s shop. If you find yourself traveling through, stop by Artist Point, you may just find her sitting on the rocks.

Anne loves to meet and chat with her readers. You can connect with her through the links below.
